The McNugget is a golf tournament for McDonald's owner/operators, suppliers to the McDonald's system, retired McDonald's owner / operators and guests of the three groups.  Most owner/operators are primarily from Western Canada but not exclusively.  Since it is an invitational tournament, the organizers must invite all participants.

Althought the McNugget has been played at several different locations, more recently the tournament has been held at Salmon Arm.  As a result, we typically play Salmon Arm Golf Course for two days and play Talking Rock Golf Course on the middle day.

The first McNugget Golf Tournament was organized by a group of six operators in the Okanagan Valley and the East and West Kootenay.  These six operators (Roy McArthur, Chris Sorensen, Bill Pihach, Eric Green, Roy Murray and Jim Frame) were part of an advertising co-op and happened to all be golfers.  The first tournament was in the Spring of 1986 in Trail, BC and was huge success.  38 years later, we celebrated our 36th McNugget in 2024 with two missed events due to Covid.

Typically, we play a Texas Scramble on Monday and Tuesday and on Wednesday we have regular tournament play.  Prizes are awarded daily.

In Salmon Arm we use the Prestige Harbourfront Resort.

Typically the McNugget is in late May or early June.  The 2025 McNugget will be June 2, 3 & 4, 2025.
